At PACT Missionaries, we understand the importance of creating an environment where worship can flourish. Recently, a friend of PACT had the privilege of donating a PA system to Matiza Church of Christ, a gesture that we believe will significantly enhance their worship experience and community gatherings. This blog will explore the significance of this donation and how it will benefit the church and its members.
Matiza Church of Christ was planted in 1992 by Brother Witty and Loy Mitchel, under the leadership of the late Eria Matiza, who was dedicated to evangelizing in the area. The congregation has been supported through the years by student learners from Mutare School of Preaching (formerly Mutare Bible College), including brothers Mudzengerere and Gwinya, who contributed to the church’s outreach efforts.
In 1993, after graduating from the Mutare School of Preaching (MSOP), brother Austin Madzorera became the resident preacher, serving until 1997. Following him, brother Givemore Makurudza led the congregation until 2000, after which brother Mushumbi took over and continues to guide the church today. Matiza Church of Christ boasts a well-furnished building and a baptistry, providing a welcoming space for worship and community activities. The church is actively running several projects to navigate the economic challenges faced across the country.
The newly donated PA system is not just a piece of equipment; it represents a commitment to supporting the spiritual growth of Matiza Church community. Prior to receiving this donation, the church struggled with sound quality during services and events, which often hindered engagement. With the new PA system, the church can now project clear audio, making it easier for congregants to hear sermons, hymns, and announcements.

The introduction of the PA system will have several positive impacts on Matiza Church of Christ:
The donation of the PA system reflects the spirit of generosity and support by friends of PACT Missionaries who are uplifting Churches in Africa. We believe that when we come together to uplift one another, we can create lasting change and impact lives for the better. This initiative not only benefits Matiza Church of Christ but also inspires other churches and communities to invest in their worship environments.
The donation of the PA system to Matiza Church of Christ is a significant step toward enhancing worship and building a stronger community. At PACT Missionaries, we are thrilled by the gesture shown by friends of PACT to support this church and look forward to witnessing the positive changes that will arise from this gift. Together, we can continue to spread hope and love through our collective efforts.
